The Cognitive Airport
Airports today generate a wealth of data. This data starts outside the airport in the carpark and continues through to the check-in gate finally towards boarding, and this only covers passenger-related data. Unfortunately, this data is seldom utilized to improve passenger experience or airports revenues.
To address this gap, Mata developed the concept of the cognitive airport. This is a consulting engagement with the end goal of developing an agentic explainable AI that aids in decision making, and building dashboards for executives and key stakeholders to inform decisions such as:

1
Parking capacity and pricing
Optimize parking lot usage and pricing models through demand forecasting and real-time monitoring to increase revenue and improve passenger convenience.
2
Commercial space location and diversity
Enhance terminal retail strategies by analyzing footfall patterns and recommending the most effective tenant mix and store placements.
3
Terminal throughput actions
Improve passenger flow and reduce bottlenecks by predicting peak load times and adjusting resource allocation accordingly.
